The Changsha International Guitar Festival, China (GCC), aims to be a world-class arts-event for guitar players and fans from around the globe. It is one of the highest-ranking and most influential international guitar festivals in China, and the highest-paying classical guitar competition in Asia.
Activities during the Festival include: international guitar competition, international guitar composition competition, concerts, master classes, seminars and exhibitions, amongst others.
So far, Six Guitar Festivals have been successfully held in Changsha.
The international guitar and composition competitions draw attention of guitar players & composers from 32 countries.
Concerts will be performed by the most influential guitarists in the world today.
Master classes provide a good opportunity for fans of classical guitar to exchange ideas and learn first-hand from guitar masters.

1. International Guitar Competition
This is one of the international competitions held during the period of GCC. Contestants may enter in one of the following four groups: Open, Youth, Juvenile and Children. Past contestants consist mainly of top Chinese and international players from both a professional or amateur background. Jury and guests of the Guitar Festival are made up of experts and professors from music academies, orchestras and music organizations worldwide.
2. International Guitar Composition Competition
The goal of this Competition is to encourage composers to create more classical guitar pieces and expand the repertoire for guitar.
The winning piece will be published by Les Productions d'OZ or Les Éditions Doberman-Yppan, probably the world’s biggest publishers of guitar music.
3. Concerts
Guest performers of the 2019 GCC are all world-renowned guitarists featuring a wide variety of unique styles. In previous years international guitar masters, such as Amadeus Guitar Duo, Marcin Dylla, Judicael Perroy, Goran Krivokapic, Xuefei Yang , Roland Dyens, Jason Vieaux, Johannes Möller, Paul Galbraith, Zoran Dukic, Sanel Redzic, Nigel North, Nejc Kuhar, Gerald Garcia, Christopher Stell, Mark Eden, Mark Ashford , Amanda Cook, Berta Rojas, Fabio Zanon, Benjamin Verdery, Hans Michael Koch, Javier conde, Ekachai Jearakul, Alexander-Sergei Ramírez, Clive Carroll, Susana Prieto, Alexis Muzurakis, Claudio Maccari, Paolo Pugliese, Xavier Jara, Maria Vega Torrecilla performed at the Festival, all exhibiting extraordinary charm to the audience.
4. Master classes and seminars
Open master classes provide an opportunity for participants to share their musical ideas and showcase their unique performing styles through face-to-face instruction.
During the course of the Festival, a variety of seminars focusing on different themes are organized to look at the art of guitar from different perspectives.
